Animal Tracks Detective
Be a nature detective! Follow trails of footprints across snow and mud, look closely at each clue, from droppings and feathers to chewed pine cones and nibbled twigs, and work out which animal made them. Spot a deer's split hooves, a rabbit's hops, a duck's webbed feet and a snake's wavy track. Big kids use a field guide to tell a fox from a dog and read what happened at the end of the trail.
Build a Skeleton
Put a skeleton back together, bone by bone! Drag the skull, backbone, ribs and hips onto the X-ray outline, then the arm and leg bones, and watch your skeleton dance. Big kids find the humerus, femur, radius, ulna, tibia and fibula, name glowing bones and learn which joints are hinges, ball and socket joints or pivots. Then build a bonus fish, dog or bird skeleton and see which bones you share.
Food Journey
Ride a cute piece of fruit through your digestive system! Get chewed in the mouth, slide down the esophagus, dodge acid splashes in the stomach, grab nutrients in the small intestine and collect water drops in the large intestine. At every gate, hop under the right answer about what each part does. Little kids learn that food gives us energy, and big kids learn about enzymes, villi and absorption.
Nonograms
Use the number clues on each row and column to reveal a hidden picture, one square at a time.
Magic Crossbow: Pattern Breaker
Red, blue, red, blue, blue... wait! Find the one that breaks the pattern and shoot it with your magic crossbow. Pop out the extra item or swap the wrong one, and the pattern is fixed. Simple two-color patterns for little ones, long tricky patterns with two breakers for big kids.
Magic Crossbow: Odd or Even Hunt
Hunt down every odd number (or every even one) with your magic crossbow! Little ones count dots in pairs to spot the one left over, bigger kids check the last digit of two-digit numbers, and big kids work out sums and times facts like 7+8 and 6×5 before deciding if the answer is odd or even.
Magic Crossbow: Line Hunt
Hunt down every zigzag, wavy or spiral line with your magic crossbow and learn the lines artists use! Little ones spot straight, zigzag, wavy, thick and thin lines, bigger kids find dotted, dashed, parallel and crossing lines and tell geometric shapes from organic ones, and big kids track down textures like hatching, cross-hatching and stippling.
Magic Crossbow: Odd Color Out
Which color doesn't belong? Red, orange, blue, yellow: they're warm colors, except the blue! Shoot the odd color out with your magic crossbow and find out why. Little ones spot the one that isn't red among red things, then primary and secondary colors, warm and cool, tints and shades, and color-wheel neighbors and partners for big kids.
Masterpiece Slider
Slide the tiles to fix a famous painting! The Starry Night, the Mona Lisa, The Great Wave and more are cut into tiles and mixed up, with one tile missing. Slide them back into place, then guess who painted it for bonus stars and read the museum label to learn one amazing fact. Small kids slide 8 tiles with numbers to help, big kids take on 15.
Magic Crossbow: Habitat Hunt
Which animals live in the ocean? Which ones live in the desert? Shoot every animal that belongs with your magic crossbow, and find out how each one is made for its home. Farms, ponds and jungles for little ones, then real science traps for big kids: penguins don't live in the Arctic, polar bears don't live in Antarctica, and a shark can't breathe air!
Science Moto Race
Pick your racer and ride your scooter through the lane with the right science answer! Choose a bunny, kitty, panda or frog, pick your science (animals, my body, weather, plants, space, matter, living things, Earth or energy), then race three rivals down a winding road. Every right answer makes you faster, and every wrong one lets a rival pass you.
Science Car Race
Pick your car and drive through the lane with the right science answer! Choose a puppy, fox, bear or chick in a go-kart, pick your science (animals, my body, weather, plants, space, matter, living things, Earth or energy), then race three rivals down a winding road. Every right answer makes you faster, and every wrong one lets a rival pass you.
Build a Bug
What makes an insect an insect? Build a ladybug, a honeybee or a dragonfly from its head, thorax and abdomen, give it 6 legs, antennae and wings, and watch it fly away. Then become a Bug Inspector: is a spider an insect? A centipede? A flea with no wings? Big kids build bugs for a job, like a water scorpion that breathes through a snorkel on its tail.
Photosynthesis Factory
Run a leaf as a food factory! Tap the soil to pull water up the roots, catch carbon dioxide bubbles from the air, and let the sun power the machines to make sugar for the plant and oxygen for the animals. Clouds, dry soil, a closed greenhouse and nightfall each slow the factory down. Read the graph to find out what held it back, and big kids predict each day and run a greenhouse experiment.
Ecosystem Balance
Be the island ranger! Grass grows, rabbits eat the grass and have babies, and foxes catch the rabbits. Each season, bring animals by boat, move them to the mainland or plant grass, then watch the live graph. Too many rabbits and the grass is gone; too few foxes and the rabbits boom. Keep all three alive through a rabbit boom, hungry foxes and a dry year, and learn how predator and prey numbers rise and fall.
Migration Journey
Lead real animal migrations across the map! Guide Canada geese south ahead of winter, monarch butterflies to the mountain forests of Mexico, sockeye salmon up the Fraser River, a green sea turtle across the Atlantic to Ascension Island and a humpback whale from Alaska to Hawaii. Tap to steer along the real route, refuel at marshes and flower fields or live on stored fat, and dodge storms, nets and bears. Big kids predict, compare the distances on a chart and learn why each animal migrates.
Healthy Plate Chef
Be the chef and build balanced meals for hungry customers! Drag fruit, vegetables, grains, protein and dairy onto the right part of the plate and watch each customer cheer. Little chefs sort everyday foods and sometimes treats into baskets, while big kids find the food that gives energy for football or builds strong bones, match needs to nutrients like calcium, protein and fiber, and read food labels.
Heartbeat Lab
Be a scientist and find out how exercise changes your heart and breathing! Send Pip to sleep, on a fast walk, running or jumping rope, predict what will happen, then watch the heart beat and the lungs fill faster or slower while the pulse and breath counters change. Big kids record their results on a bar chart, work out beats a minute from a 15-second pulse count, and follow the blood through the heart and lungs.
Microscope Mystery
What is it? A picture starts super zoomed in and slowly zooms out: guess it early for more stars! Is it strawberry seeds, a butterfly wing, a cat's tongue or a fly's eye? Big kids also use a real-looking microscope: pick the right lens, turn the focus knob until the slide is sharp, then label onion skin, cheek cells, leaf cells, blood and pond water, and sort out what plant and animal cells have.
Germ Defender
Germs are marching toward the body: stop them! Build skin walls, sticky mucus traps, hungry white blood cells and antibody makers along the path, and earn energy for every germ you beat. Between waves, pick the healthy habit: washing hands sends fewer germs, a good sleep heals, and a vaccine trains your defenders. Big kids learn how the immune system works and why antibiotics don't work on viruses.
Fossil Dig
Be a fossil hunter! Dig up a mystery dinosaur with a pickaxe, a chisel and a brush, but dig gently near the bones or they crack. Drag each bone onto the skeleton outline and watch your Tyrannosaurus rex, Triceratops, Stegosaurus, Brachiosaurus or Velociraptor come to life. Learn what it ate from its teeth, how big it was and when it lived, then read the rock layers of a cliff, where deeper means older.
