Information We Collect
When an account is created, we collect a username, email address, and a securely encrypted password. If sign-in happens through Google, we receive basic profile information such as a name and email address from that provider. As games are played, we store best scores and play counts so progress can be tracked over time.
If a comment is submitted on a game page, we store the name provided, the comment text, and the submitter's IP address. If a star rating is submitted, we store the rating and the submitter's IP address. This applies whether or not the submitter is signed in.
Guests (players without an account) are identified only by a random token stored in the browser's local storage, used solely to prevent the same guest from rating a game more than once and to save guest scores. This token is not linked to any personal information.
How We Use Information
Account information is used only to operate the Site: to allow logging in, save game progress, and send password reset emails when requested. Comment and rating submissions, including IP addresses, are used to moderate content and prevent abuse (such as repeated or automated submissions). Personal information is never used for advertising, and no marketing profiles are built from it.
Comments
Comments are reviewed before appearing publicly. The name entered when submitting a comment is shown publicly alongside the comment text once approved — do not include a real full name, contact details, or other personal information in a comment or the name field. Comment content and IP addresses are visible only to site administrators, never displayed publicly.
Sharing of Information
Personal information is never sold. Limited information may be shared with service providers that help operate the Site, such as an email delivery service used to send password reset messages, and only to the extent necessary to provide that service. We do not use third-party advertising or analytics trackers on the Site.
Children's Privacy
KidWorld is built with children in mind and is intended to be used with the involvement of a parent or guardian. Only the minimum information needed to create an account, save game progress, and moderate submitted comments is collected. No behavioral advertising is shown to any user, child or adult. A parent or guardian may contact us at any time to review, update, or delete a child's account information, or to request removal of a comment submitted by their child.
Cookies and Local Storage
KidWorld uses a small number of essential cookies to keep users signed in and to remember the current session. For guests, a random identifier is stored in the browser's local storage to save scores and prevent duplicate ratings. These are required for the Site to function and are not used for tracking or advertising across other websites.
Data Retention and Security
Account information is kept for as long as the account remains active. Passwords are stored using industry-standard encryption and are never kept in plain text. Accounts that are inactive for an extended period may be removed along with their saved progress. IP addresses collected with comments and ratings are retained only as long as needed for moderation and abuse prevention.
Your Choices
You, or a parent or guardian, may request at any time to view, correct, or delete account information, or to have a submitted comment removed, by contacting us. Deleting an account also removes its associated saved scores and progress.
Changes to This Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time to reflect changes to the Site or applicable law. Continued use of the Site after an update means the revised policy is accepted.
